Weaving Our Roots
Nestled in the hills of Oregon wine country, Inn The Ground is a refined and thoughtful boutique retreat designed to inspire connection with nature, oneself, and others. Built on the grounds of The Ground, a regenerative farm, the Inn embraces a philosophy of harmony with the natural world. The curated art collection draws on this ethos, exploring our deep connection to the land and to one another. Through works that reflect themes of sustainability, interdependence, and renewal, the collection celebrates the idea that our lives—like the natural world—are interconnected and ever-evolving.
Woven Works
As part of the Woven Roots collection, we commissioned two woven textile works that explore the tangible interconnectedness between humanity and the natural world. Created with organic materials and traditional fiber techniques, these pieces invite guests to slow down and engage with the natural world in a tactile, meaningful way.
Local Experience
ArtLink curated artworks that celebrate the native flora and fauna of Oregon. One highlight is a tree ring print by local woodcut artist Erik Linton, created from the cross-section of a fallen tree sourced in the region. Each ring captures the passing of time and the silent history of the land, offering an organic record of growth, climate, and place.
To deepen the connection between guests, art, and landscape, ArtLink partnered with Erik to offer a bespoke printmaking experience. Guests are invited to create their own woodcut print using rings from ancient Oregon trees, resulting in a one-of-a-kind artwork to take home. The finished piece acts as a meaningful reminder of their stay, a personal reflection of the time spent in harmony with the natural world.
Eco Materiality
ArtLink curated a selection of works by Raku Inoue that celebrate the materiality of nature through intricate compositions made from found natural elements. Using leaves, petals, twigs, and insects often gathered from his own backyard in Canada, Inoue transforms organic materials into imaginative forms that reveal the artistry of the natural world.
These works invite guests to observe their surroundings with greater attention, encouraging a deeper appreciation for both the delicate details and larger patterns found in nature. The collection inspires a shift in perspective where even the smallest fragment of the environment becomes a source of beauty and reflection.
ArtLink commissioned Morii Design to create a bespoke textile piece for Inn The Ground that complements the property’s commitment to sustainability. Morii Design is a dynamic textile studio based in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India, known for honoring traditional Indian hand-embroidery while embracing a contemporary aesthetic. The studio works closely with craftswomen in rural communities, supporting both the preservation of traditional skills and the livelihoods of those it employs. Morii sources raw materials locally and uses only natural and recycled materials, ensuring a zero-waste production process.
This commissioned work is a fitting addition to the collection, reflecting the regenerative values and sustainable practices at the heart of Inn The Ground.
